30 Day Challenge May

30 Day Challenge April Recap

Last month I set out to make plans and get organized. With having moved to the city in April, I’ve found myself settling into a routine and I feel pretty good about everything I accomplished.

My goals were:

1. General organization for life in the city
2. A plan for this blog and my online presence
3. A weekly plan for life in general
4. A solid financial plan

I’ve put pen to paper for all of these and now it’s all about bringing them to life. Sitting here and thinking about the month, I know that some need a bit more work. Of course I’ll have to reflect on these plans and change them up as time goes on but right now I’m feeling good, ready and eager to tackle these plans!

This months challenge?

30 Day Challenge May

Get my butt out of bed! During my first week in the apartment I was waking up early (6 or 6:30) and accomplishing a lot. This month I want consistency with my wake up time. Sure, I can get out of bed at 8:15 and still get to work for 9:00 but on those mornings, I’m usually sitting in bed for at least 1.5 hours.

Jordan, who blogs at Thrifty Feast, passed along this Globe and Mail article “Twelve things successful people do before breakfast” and it’s the kick in the pants I needed to remind myself why I wanted to end my commute. (at least one of the many reasons). I want to be productive with my time!

This month, my head is going to be off the pillow at 6:15 a.m. weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on the weekends. So far so good… with the exception of Friday morning (had a late night Thursday with a work event).

Now, I just have to make sure I’m productive during those morning hours and accomplish the plans I made in April! I’m more of a morning person anyway. I feel more energized and able to accomplish things if I get up and do them early, so now I have to hold myself to it.

Bonus of getting up before 7? I can catch CBC news before the kid shows turn on!
