Playback: April ’15

Well, well, well. April marked one year living in this fabulous metropolis. It’s been quite the year with a fair amount of change in my life. While I’m still a small town girl at heart I’ve been able to carve out my own little place in the neighbourhood and I’ve grown to really enjoy city life. I love the fact that I can leave my apartment and explore different areas all with the help of my two feet. Walking is the best. When I was looking for rental units last year, I was looking east-ward to Leslieville, but I’m glad I ended up downtown. It’s been a blast.

Matthew and I started off April in the best way, an easy-going, fun-filled weekend! We explored the beaches, walked the boardwalk, took a trip up to the Danforth to visit the Viking Bakery (Toronto’s Icelandic Bakery) and went bowling!

So, bowling. Can I just say this – for year’s I’ve been suggesting to friends “let’s go bowling!” but I think everyone thought I was being sarcastic or ironic… but no. I’m always serious about wanting to bowl! Bowling is so fun! Matthew is the best and made sure it actually happened! So fun!

I had the chance to attend Samsung’s S6 launch event with work.  Not only did I get the chance to meet and mingle with some of our bloggers and influencers, I also was able to take in the sweet sweet musical stylings of alt-J live again.

I made a bit of an impromptu trip to Ottawa to spend the weekend with Ali and her wild kitten. Long walks, talks, eating and sleeping. Purrrrrfection.

I used to ignore any sponsored posts that would come up in my newsfeed, but since Matthew and I started seeing each other I’m much more tuned in. (Matthew works in digital marketing) Anyways, Camp Tech must know I’m a crafty person who’s keen to set up an Etsy store. They were running a session with Etsy’s Toronto Street Team all about setting up your first Etsy store. Now that I’ve taken the course I just need to get a few more projects finished and cast before I put it all online!

To mark my one-year-in-the-city-iversary I went on a little neighbourhood pub crawl with some of my favourite people. T’was a lovely night! Snapped a photo with these loves.

Ali came to Toronto for the last weekend of April and we had another lovely visit. We kept the theme from the previous weekend of long walks, talks, eating and sleeping but also added binge watching RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 after some convincing chats the night before.
