Playback: August ’15

Well! I’m sitting in the airport waiting for my flight to take off. I’m off on my European adventure. Here’s a recap of the last month, which flew by!

Sorry if the formatting/spelling/grammar is off! I’m doing this via mobile for the first time.

My parents decided to ride their bikes from Burlington to Toronto and have lunch with Matthew and I. Pretty fit group they are.

Toronto had it’s first vegan food festival and, being vegan, I went. I was overwhelmed by the amount of choice! I’ve gotten used to having maybe one or two options, but boy! So much food! In the end I decided to get in the monster line for a vegan big mac. The company came from California to bring the tasty goodness. Plus of waiting in line, I made vegan friends!

There was so much happening in the city on one day! I went from the vegan food festival to the Taste of Danforth with Matthew and Jose. So many people! We stopped and had grilled pineapple with brown sugar and cinnamon. Delish!

We then made our way to check out some Panimania. The Roots happened to be performing and we enjoyed the city hall fireworks.

Anders came to town for a weekend in the city. And in the heat of summer we enjoyed some patio beers with Matthew and Jose.

I started to frequent the Leslieville farmers market this month too! Lots of fresh produce only a 20 minute walk away. Plus there’s a stand from Earth and City, a tasty vegan spot, that I like to treat myself to.

Matthew had to go to Montreal for work and decided to spend the weekend so, I decided last minute to join!

I worked half the day from a coffee shop near the hotel before I made my way to the TELUS office to meet my fabulous colleagues.

I also was able to grab lunch with Louis! He’s wonderful and I’m going to miss having him at knitting club. Boourns.

We stayed with Matthews friends Simon and Dominique. They also happen to be my friends now too! Such a fun group!

And of course we made our way up to Mont Royal and were super cute and all that jazz. 🙂

To wrap up the weekend we had brunch with my grandma. I can tell where I get some of my sass from (the best kind of sass). She’s fab.

I wrapped up the months with Graham and Jamie at a colour party. It’s like a colour run, without the run and all the fun! Plus dancing!

Well! It was a fun month and now I’m off on an adventure. Wish I could bring Matthew with me, but we’ve decided we have to plan a trip to somewhere stellar. I’m sure I’ll be inspired to get up in the air again soon.

Here we go September!
