Looking for a simple knit to pass your Sunday? I made this basic toque the other day and thought I’d share the pattern here. I made the pattern up on the fly so hopefully it works for you!
Needles: 16″ US Size 8/5.0mm circular needle. 4 US Size 8/5.0mm double pointed needles.
Yarn: I don’t remember what I used, its soft and pretty chunky. As if that helps, eh? Be creative, use what you want and adjust the pattern as needed. You should only need one ball of yarn.
Cast on:
64 stitches.
1. Single rib *K1, P1* repeat until end of round.
Repeat until measures 2″
2. Knit around until hat measures 7″ total.
Begin decrease:
1. *K1, K2tog* repeat until end of round
2. Knit round
3. Knit round
4. *K1, K2tog* repeat until end of round
5. Knit round
6. Knit round
7. *K1, K2tog* repeat until end of round
8. Knit round
9. *K1, K2tog* repeat until end of round
10. Knit round
11. *K1, K2tog* repeat until end of round
12. Knit round
13. *K1, K2tog* repeat until end of round
*switch to double pointed needles when needed
Continue 12&13 until 8 stitches remain. Cut yarn leaving 8” and use needle to close off 8 stitches. Weave ends in and voila!
Thanks for sharing your knit recipe. I’m going to give it a try. 🙂
